Community Service Involvement

Thompson Technologies encourages all consultants to volunteer and support our neighbors in need.  If you are interested in any of the events, please contact the Relationship Manager at 770-794-8380

In the past year, the Thompson team has volunteered and supported MUST Ministries by doing the following:

  • Food and clothing drive  - April 25th through May 16th
  • Lunch hour volunteering – packed guest shelter kits – May 14th
  • Served dinner at the Loaves and Fishes Kitchen – June 29th
  • School lunch Program – assembled sandwiches for children – July 29th

We just finished our first Community Service Initiative of 2009 - a donation drive to support the Forgotten Soldiers Organization (FSO) www.forgottensoldiers.org.

Our donation drive for Forgotten Soldiers Outreach was quite a success!  Thank you to all who made donations to this worthy cause!  We collected over one thousand dollars worth of donations and hundreds of letters from children to be sent along with the care packages. 

I would like to give a special thank you to several people whose input and dedication contributed greatly to its success!  To:

Doretta Lockwood - for contacting WC Abney Elementary School where her son Derek attends and asked Derek’s class to write letters to the soldiers.  

Candace Underwood - for contacted her Aunt who works with Imagine Charter School of Georgia and asked many classes to participate in the letter writing.  Imagine Charter School also sent a long a short PowerPoint presentation (attached).

Jim Calise – for researching the military phone cards to get the best deal through AT&T and helped me shop at Costco

Kim Rowley – for tracking payroll deductions for donations from our associates and consultants and keeping me straight.

Forgotten soldiers has postponed the next packing event until the end of March.  They will hold on to all of our donations for the next packing event and I will keep you posted on when and where that event will take place.  If you are interested in helping pack the boxes we could probably get a car pool going…
